Internship in Spiritual Direction Program

Spiritual Direction is a pastoral ministry in which one Christian assists another to pay attention to God's personal communication to her or him, to respond personally to this God, to grow in intimacy and to live out the consequences of the relationship.

Purpose of the Program

  • Personal growth and development as ministers of spiritual direction
  • An understanding of the theological and psychological bases for spiritual direction
  • Enhanced communication skills focused in the context of the spiritual direction ministry
  • Supervised ministry as spiritual directors

Participants

Women and men, laity, religious and clergy of all faith traditions who are interested in deepening their understanding of the nature and process of spiritual direction may apply. It is important that applicants have some background in theology, some experience of pastoral ministry and give evidence of personal maturity. The program has been designed so that full-time pastoral ministers can participate.

The maximum number of participants we accept is twelve and the minimum is nine.
