The Dominican Center for Religious Development was founded to make spiritual direction available to interested persons–religious, clergy and laity — of all religious traditions. Spiritual direction is concerned primarily with helping individuals to place themselves freely before God who desires to communicate to them. It assists directees in reflecting on their life experience especially as it touches their relationship to God. Spiritual direction at DCRD is based on these assumptions:

• God communicates to all people.
• This communication is brought to awareness in contemplation and personal reflection.
• The articulation and clarification of this experience in dialogue with a spiritual director is significant to the person.

Persons seeking spiritual direction may request a particular director, or after an initial interview and staff consultation, be referred to a director. An offering of $45.00 for this service is requested, if possible. For an appointment, please email us or call the Center at 313.387.9574.
