Our loving God, as we look ahead
We pray for healing and wholeness for our nation
As we thank you for its blessings and grace.
Our bonds of community must be repaired
And we thank you for the bonds of community that we can build on.
Our willingness to listen to one another must be strengthened
As we commit ourselves to speak truth with love to each other.
Our respect for every member of our society must be revived
As we treasure the respect that we enjoy.

We pray for healing and wholeness for our nation
As we thank you for its blessings and grace.
Guide us to move beyond divisive language
As we search for common ground and shared understanding.
Guide us to move beyond angry rhetoric
As we search for ways to make dialogue possible.
Guide us to move beyond harsh judgments
As we hope for broader horizons and deeper values.

We pray for healing and wholeness for our nation
As we thank you for its blessings and grace.
Let us reject all forms of violence
As we hear the call to the peacemaker deep within.
Let us learn to forgive and reconcile
As we remember all that has been forgiven us.
Let us model inclusiveness and welcome to all
As we recall with gladness the inclusion and welcome we treasure.

We pray for healing and wholeness for our nation
As we thank you for its blessings and grace.
May we move forward with hope
As we remember and celebrate the resurrection.
May we move forward with faith
As we so welcome the faith others put in us.
May we move forward with compassion and love
As we savor their wonderful presence in our own lives.

Our loving God, as we look ahead
We pray for healing and wholeness for our nation
As we thank you for its blessings and grace.
We pray to be a part of repairing and restoring the bonds of community
As we thank you for those who have worked hard to build bonds of community with us.
We pray to be willing to listen to one another
As those who love us listen so carefully to us.
We pray that we may respect every member of our society
Even as we long to be respected and loved.

Loving God, hear our prayers.
