In 2015, Pope Francis called for the global Catholic Community to join the ecumenical celebration of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation.
“The annual World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation offers to individual believers and to the community a precious opportunity to renew our personal participation in this vocation as custodians of creation, raising to God our thanks for the marvelous works that God has entrusted to our care, invoking God’s help for the protection of creation and God’s mercy for the sins committed against the world in which we live.” — Pope Francis
This celebration begins the annual ecumenical Season of Creation which runs through October 4th, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The following prayers and readings are offered for contemplation and prayer for individuals and communities.Day of Prayer for Creation 2020
